How To Use Your National Identity Card To Withdraw Money From Any ATM Worldwide

The National Identity Management Commission NIMC, is responsible for issuing out National ID Cards for Nigerians.

nimc-640x431

Established by the NIMC Act No. 23 of 2007, the NIMC has the mandate to establish, own, operate, maintain and manage the National Identity Database in Nigeria, register persons covered by the Act, assign a Unique National Identification Number (NIN) and issue General Multi-Purpose Cards (GMPC) to those.
Many Nigerians have successfully received their National ID Cards, however, only a few care to more about their ID Cards. Obviously, the ID Card looks like an ATM Card, and in reality, it is a MasterCard which can be used worldwide to withdraw money from any ATM, irrespective of the country you are in.
In addition, the Nigerian government has also said that the National ID Card may be used as Visa acceptable by some countries. But that is a topic for another day because today, I will be discussing on the use of the National ID Card as ATM Cards, used to withdraw money from any bank in any country.
Access Bank of Nigeria is the sole bank currently powering the National Id Card. Below are the steps on how to load your National ID Card (MasterCard)
1. Visit any Access Bank branch with your card
2. Complete a deposit slip with the required information

3. Your card will be credited instantly with the value of cash paid
For cash payment where Card is not available
1. Visit any Access Bank branch with your card
2. Ensure you have the 16 digit card number information
3. Complete a deposit slip with the required information
4. The card will be credited with the value of cash paid

Before funding your Master Card, you need to activate it the same way you activated your normal ATM Cards issued to you from your respective banks. However, I activated mine (my National ID Card) at the point of collection. But just in case you have not done that yet and you wish to, you can follow the steps below on how to do that;

1. First, activate your card by selecting a 4-digit PIN using the POS terminal at the NIMC center or any Access Bank Branch
2. Next, visit any Access Bank ATM and insert your card. Go to the PIN change menu then select I-PIN on the display.
3. Select any 4- digits PIN of your choice and confirm on the ATM
4. A ”PIN Change Successful” message is displayed
5. When shopping online and MasterCard Secure Code is required, please provide the 4 – digits I-PIN.

DOWNLOAD VIDEO (MP4): Kiss Daniel – Jombo

download

Imagine a love that is stifled by doubt, one that is cut back in its expressions by uncertainty and a morbid fear of the unknown-if the parents of your partner will give their blessings to your union. That is the story told in these visuals for “JOMBO” off the critically acclaimed album “ NEW ERA”by KISS DANIEL.
The video which was directed by Ani James for AJE Filmworks for G-Worldwide Entertainment, follows the journey of a young couple as they try, first with initial reluctance, and finally success to introduce their affair to the lady’s parents.

Ani James explores the use of humour to weave a story that is relatable in its execution, and inspiring in its message of love serving as a bridge builder between people from different tribes and generations. JOMBO is the first video to be shot off the NEW ERA album after the release of the first four singles “WOJU”, “LAYE”, GOOD TIME” and “MAMA” on the album.

The song was produced by MASTERKRAFT, and has since become a fan favourite among fans, and especially with the various audiences that attended the recently concluded KISS DANIEL USA TOUR across major cities in the United States.

Dino Melaye Allegedly Threatens To Beat Up Senator Remi Tinubu

Nigeria’s upper legislative chamber broke into an uproar today with some members threatening President Muhammad Buhari with impeachment, and Dino Melaye threatening to ‘impregnate’ Remi Tinubu, the wife of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Leader, Saharareporters reports.. The Senators who met behind closed doors were incensed by the proposed trial of the leadership of the Senate for forgery. Shortly after commencement of a plenary session, Senator Dino Melaye (APC Kogi West) said in his remarks that the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, must be brought before the Senate to be thoroughly grilled and humiliated for charging the Senate leadership with forgery in court.

Mr. Melaye called on the Senators in attendance to fight the presidency to a standstill. In his rant, he issued a wide variety of threats. Recognized to speak, Senator Remi Tinubu (APC) Lagos Central said the Senate should not be reduced to a kindergarten where Senators could just issue childish threats, and called on Senators to close ranks and seek reconciliation amongst its members. That was when Melaye flew into rage, calling her names. “I will beat you up on this floor and nothing will happen,” he threatened. The statement caused a commotion on the floor as Senators in her support gathered to protect her. Senate President Saraki nodded as Melaye called mrs. Tinubu unprintable names according to Senators who intervened to save her from the rampaging Melaye. Leading the offensive in support of Melaye were Senators Danjuma Goje, Jibrin Barau, Isa Misau and Peter Nwaoboshi. A source told SaharaReporters there had been a series of meetings at the home of Senator Aliyu Wamakko (APC, Sokoto) to plot a total onslaught on President Buhari in the coming days. In addition, the Senators held to be behind the current forgery trial were threatened by the like-minded Senators, with Melaye threatening to kill anyone who shows up in court to testify against Saraki and Ekweremadu. The rancor between the Senate and the Presidency is expected to escalate leading to a summons to the new Inspector General of Police who will be forced to declare AGF Malami wanted if he refuses to show up at the Senate from there it was gathered that Senators opposed to Buhari would start impeachment proceedings against him. Senators who spoke to SaharaReporters said the Senators supporting Saraki are united in crime and corruption because they’ve never had it so good, with over N260 billion padded into the budget in constituency projects, and sundry line items smuggled into the 2016 budget for their individual benefit.

AMAZING TECHNOLOGY: A Laundry, Ironing and Folding Machine

We haven’t washed our clothes by hand for decades, but somehow, the wonders of the technology age haven’t saved us from the drudgery of manually folding them. Luckily though, those days will soon be behind us, at least for those who are willing to spend a week’s salary in order to never fold another shirt. American company FoldiMate has unveiled a three-foot-high robot that will take in crumpled shirts, tops and trousers and spew out neatly folded and steamed garments.
The machine, expected to cost between $700 and $850 (£490-£600) has a row of trays, each one of which a piece of clothing can be clipped on to. Once pulled inside the machine, the FoldiMate senses the type of garment and a series of robot arms is used to fold it into place.
It can also de-wrinkle items by steaming them as they exit the machine. The company says it takes around 10 seconds to fold each item and can hold between 15 and 20 pieces of clothing at a time. At the end of the process, they are released from the machine in a neat pile.

Some pieces of clothing can’t be folded with the machine, including underwear and large items such as linen. Although the concept is simple, Foldimate has been developing the machine with a team of experienced roboticists for years.

Messi unlikely to serve time, in spite of 21-month jail sentence

FC Barcelona’s Argentine football star Lionel Messi is unlikely to serve time, even though he was sentenced on Wednesday to 21 months in prison by a court in Spain. Messi was also fined two million euros (about 2.2 million dollars), after being found guilty of three counts of tax fraud.
The Barcelona court handed the same sentence to the player’s father, Jorge, with a 1.5 million euro fine. Both defendants have around five days to appeal to the Supreme Court, the Barcelona court said in its statement. NAN reports however that Spanish law is such that any sentence under two years for a non-violent crime rarely requires a defendant without previous convictions to serve jail time.

A spokeswoman for the court confirmed Messi was unlikely to be imprisoned. Messi, 29, and his father defrauded the Spanish tax office of almost 4.2 million euros between 2007 and 2009 by using a web of shell companies to evade taxes on income. The income was from the player’s image rights, the court said in a written ruling.

The companies — with names such as Sport Consultants and Sport Enterprises — were based in tax havens such as Belize, Uruguay and Switzerland. These are countries where legislation kept the identities of their owners secret, according to the ruling.

Messi, five-times World Player of the Year, admitted during the trial to signing contracts protecting his image rights. He however said he had no knowledge he was partaking in any wrongdoing or defrauding the Spanish state. Messi said his father had control over his financial affairs, but the court said on Wednesday that this was not enough to avoid charges.

“(His) avoidable ignorance, which was derived from indifference, is not an error, and it does not remove responsibility,” the presiding judge, Mercedes Armas Galve, wrote in the statement.

“The information that the accused avoided having was, in reality, within his reach via trustworthy and accessible sources.’’ Messi, who has held Spanish nationality since 2005, and his father had already paid five million euros to the tax authorities as a “corrective” measure after formal investigations were opened.

The footballer is 10th on Forbes Magazine’s list of the world’s highest-earning athletes over the past decade, with an estimated income of $350 million during this period.
FC Barcelona, of which Messi is the leading goal scorer of all time in all competitions, said in a statement on its website following the ruling it was backing him.

It said it considers the player to be free of criminal liability. “The Club … considers that the player, who has corrected his position with the Spanish tax office, is in no way criminally responsible with regards to the facts underlined in this case,’’ the club said.

Messi, who has won eight La Liga titles, four King’s Cups and four Champions League crowns with Barcelona, said last month he was quitting international soccer.

This was after the Argentine national side, of which he was captain, lost on penalty kicks to Chile in the Copa America tournament.

Football star Lionel Messi Sentenced To 21-Month In Prison for Tax Fraud

Argentina and Barcelona football icon, Lionel Messi, has been sentenced to 21 months in prison for tax fraud. A Barcelona court has found Barcelona forward Lionel Messi, and his father, Jorge Horacio Messi, guilty of three counts of tax fraud and has sentenced them to 21 months in prison His father, Jorge Messi, was also sentenced to 21 months in prison for defrauding Spain of €4.1m (£3.5m; $4.5m) between 2007 and 2009. A Barcelona court found Messi, and his father, guilty of three counts of tax fraud, a statement from the court on Wednesday said. They also face millions of euros in fines for using tax havens in Belize and Uruguay to conceal earnings from image rights – although neither are likely to serve any jail time.

During the trial, Lionel Messi insisted he “knew nothing” about the management of his financial affairs, saying his father dealt with them while he was “playing football”.
In his part, Jorge Messi claimed he did not have enough knowledge to orchestrate such a fraud, blaming his tax consultants instead.
In a statement issued today, the court also said that the sentence can be appealed through the Spanish Supreme Court.
Under Spanish law, a prison sentence under two years can be served under probation; meaning Messi and his father are unlikely to go to jail.
The court ordered Messi to pay a fine of around 2 million euros ($2.21 million) and his father to 1.5 million euros for the crimes.
The 5-time FIFA World Player of the Year had retired from international football in June 2016.
